Empowering Active Citizenship Through Intercultural Education

SOL Network designed and delivered a two-day active citizenship workshop at the Intercultural Gymnasium of Athens, in collaboration with Global Brigades Greece. The school serves students from diverse countries and cultural backgrounds, many with migrant and refugee experiences, making the focus on active citizenship and responsible social integration particularly meaningful.

The workshop focused on intercultural exchange and experiential learning, engaging students from all grade levels through interactive activities, group discussions, and collaborative exercises. All students actively participated, fostering dialogue, critical thinking, and mutual understanding within a diverse school environment.

The school’s director and teaching staff responded very positively, emphasizing the workshop’s practical value and relevance for students. Given its strong impact, the initiative is expected to be repeated and further developed in the future, strengthening its role in promoting inclusion and active citizenship in schools.

Through initiatives like this, SOL Network continues to empower young people with the skills, confidence, and awareness needed to actively participate in their communities.
